The chapel roof has deteriorated and water damage is destroying this beautiful and irreplaceable 10,000 square foot chapel built by inmates in 1972.

Conditions are so bad that rabid bats are often nesting in the roof of the chapel. For safety reasons the inmates can not be in the chapel when bats are present.  At dawn the bats frequently return to the chapel.

The beautiful chandeliers no longer work and inmates can not read their Bibles at nightly worship services. Some of the pews already have severe water damage and will soon be unusable.
